What are the program adjustments for vertical injection molding machines?

According to the temperature range provided by the raw material supplier’s information, set the barrel temperature to the middle of the range and adjust the mould temperature.

Estimate the required shot volume and set the vertical injection molding machine to two-thirds of the estimated shot volume.

Initially adjust the primary injection pressure to half the vertical injection moulding machine’s limit, adjust the vertical injection moulding machine’s injection speed to the estimated and adjust the required cooling time. Set the back pressure to 3.5 bar. Remove the degraded resin from the barrel. Adopt the semi-automatic injection mode; start the injection program and observe the screw action.

Adjust the injection speed and pressure as necessary, or increase the injection pressure if the mold filling time is to be shortened. As mentioned, the final mold filling pressure can be adjusted to 100% of the first injection pressure due to a process before full mould filling. The final pressure should be adjusted high enough in the vertical moulding injection moulding machine factory so that the speed that can be achieved is not limited by the set pressure. If there is overflow, the speed can be reduced.

Adjust the injection volume and changeover point after each cycle is observed. Set the program so that 95-98% mould filling by weight of injected rubber can be obtained during stage injection. Once the injection volume, changeover point, speed, and pressure are properly adjusted for the stage injection, the holding pressure can be adjusted for the second stage.

Adjust the holding pressure as needed, but do not overfill the mold cavity.

Adjust the screw speed to ensure that the melt is finished just before the cycle is complete and that the moulding cycle is not limited.
